1. BINDING EFFECT AND AMENDMENTS
Paddocks may amend these terms and conditions from time to time by updating this page. Where practical, members will be notified of material changes by email. By continuing to use the Paddocks Club website (the “site”) after such changes, you accept the updated terms. You agree to review these terms periodically to ensure continued agreement with them.
By registering as a member of the Club and paying subscription fees, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. Your continued use of the Club is deemed ongoing acceptance of these terms.
2. MEMBERSHIP
Paddocks Club is a private, English-language online learning community owned and operated by Paddocks.
Members must participate in their personal capacity, using their real name, current email address, and photo. Anonymous participation is not allowed. Sharing login details with others is strictly prohibited, and members are expected to take reasonable steps to prevent unauthorised access or impersonation.
3. INAPPROPRIATE USE OR BEHAVIOUR
You are fully responsible for activity conducted under your login. You agree not to:
- Share your login credentials.
- Post false, defamatory, hateful, harassing, or illegal content.
- Share copyrighted material without permission.
- Engage in spam, solicitations, or impersonation.
Violations may result in suspension, termination, or legal action.
4. DATA PROTECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION
The personal data you provide is used primarily to deliver Club services and facilitate member interactions. From time to time, Paddocks may contact you with information about services or request feedback. Paddocks does not share your data with third parties except for agencies working on its behalf and when required by law to do so.
5. RESPONSE TIMES FOR QUESTIONS
Paddocks aims to respond to questions posted in the discussion forum within 24 hours (Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays).
Please note: During the December/January office closure period (typically a 3-week period starting mid-December), responses may take up to 72 hours (Monday to Friday, excluding weekends and public holidays).
If your post has not been answered within the applicable timeframe, you are encouraged to follow up on your post or email us at club@paddocks.co.za, and we will attend to it as soon as possible.
6. STATUS OF ADVICE AND COMMENTS
The information, advice and comments on the Club are informal and general in nature. They are not “formal legal advice” and no guarantee is given as to their accuracy or completeness. Posting or reading material on the Club does not create any legal relationship, including an attorney-client, fiduciary, or financial relationship.
Paddocks provides answers and comments to questions asked, and answers may vary depending on the information given, or lack thereof. Paddocks reserves the right to remove or amend postings but does not take any responsibility for those postings or guarantee accuracy.
7. DISCUSSION FORUM GUIDELINES
Structure
The discussion forum is a growing body of knowledge. To ensure its ongoing value, members must:
- Post under the appropriate forum category.
- Limit each post to one issue or a group of closely related issues.
- Write in their own words and avoid pasting content written by others.
- Post in English only.
Members are encouraged to review existing discussions before posting a new question.
Standards of Discussion and Debate
- Respectful, courteous debate is encouraged. Personal attacks, rudeness, or hostile posts are not permitted.
- The forum is not a platform for prolonged or abstract debate unrelated to practical community scheme issues.
- Members asked to limit their posting frequency must comply with those directions.
Nature of Forum Responses
Paddocks Club is not a platform for comprehensive legal opinions. Responses are provided in good faith, based on the information presented, and are not a substitute for formal legal advice. Complex queries requiring in-depth analysis may be flagged as beyond the scope of the forum. Members may be advised to seek formal legal assistance where necessary.
8. CONFIDENTIALITY AND VISIBILITY OF POSTS
The discussion forum is not confidential. All posts are visible to all members, and no level of confidentiality should be expected when using the platform.
We believe that shared knowledge benefits all members. Therefore, posts will not be removed on request, as they may be of educational value to others.
9. USE OF SITE MATERIALS
Paddocks may remove inappropriate content and respond to complaints.
Members are responsible for the information they share, including in their profiles and posts. Personal information disclosed on the platform may become publicly accessible to other members.
Paddocks may use anonymised content from the forum for lawful purposes, such as content creation and marketing. Paddocks retains copyright over all original materials produced and made available in the Club. Members may use this content for their own personal and professional purposes but may not distribute it outside the Club.
10. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
Paddocks reserves the right to suspend, terminate, or refuse membership at its discretion. In such cases, the affected individual will be notified of the reason (unless the application was rejected at the outset). Terminated members are entitled only to a refund of prepaid subscription fees. Upon termination, personal data will be removed from the Club.
11. DEBIT ORDERS
For those members who choose to pay via debit order:
- Access is granted once a completed and acknowledged debit order form has been received.
- Members must pay a pro-rata fee for the sign-up month within 24 hours to activate access.
- Failed debit orders must be resolved promptly to avoid suspension.
You agree to be contacted via email, SMS, or phone as necessary to manage your membership.
12. CANCELLATION
Members may cancel their subscription at any time before the invoice for the next month is issued. If a cancellation request is submitted after the monthly invoice has been sent, the member remains liable for that month’s subscription fee, and cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing cycle.
13. DISCLAIMER AND LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Paddocks Club, its content, and services are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.
Paddocks does not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation and disclaims liability for any losses resulting from reliance on, or use of, content shared in the Club or service interruptions.
